Exhibition Schedule  2012  to  2008 – (Note: As I am concentrating on Pochoir  I have only included the exhibitions over the last two years as being reflective of my current art practice.  I have however been exhibiting in solo and group shows since the early 90’s using a variety of mediums including but not exclusive to; sculpture, glass, oil, acrylics, watercolours, charcoals, inks.)

 

CURRENT NEWS!

2011 - (July 2011 - August 2011) Artist in residence exhibition which was held at The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mt Tomah, was a huge success.  With nearly a total sell out of paintings on the day! The exhibition has finished and paintings are now available for sale in the area near the giftshop.  Kindly, the largest art work 'Middle Canopy' has been loaned by it's new owner to Mt Tomah for permenant display with two other sold art works creating a great set of images for people to see while the resedency is on as other works come and go via the gift shop.  This residency is by invitation only and it covers 12 months from July 2011, with a final exhibition in July 2012.  During this time Mel Jones holds classes in the technique of Pochoir and will also give talks and demonstrations about her art relating to the gardens.

 

 

2012 - (July 2012) Artist in Residence exhibition at The Blue Mounatins Botanic Garden Mt Tomah.

2012 - (23rd to the 25th of March 2012) INVITED as FEATURE ARTIST for Oatley West Art and Craft Show, . Oatley West Public School, Oatley Park Ave Oatley, 2223.

2011 - (February 22nd to April 20th) The Theatrette, NPWS Visitor Information Centre Blackheath NSW

2010 – (November 11th to 14th ) – Affordable Art Fair Sydney 2010, Journeymoon Art Stand C7.

 

 

2010 - (October, November, December) Crocket Graoup Art Prize, selected for show.

 

 

2010 – (June 1st to August 31st) –‘Intimate moments in Landscape and Still life’ at Ashcrofts Artspace, Solo exhibition, Blackheath NSW.

2010 – (February 1st to March 31st) - Art With Altitude, Selected for show – BMAC Group Exhibition, The Edge Cinema Katoomba.

2010 – (January 7th to 24th) – ‘Observing Nature’ at The Royal Botanic Gardens, in the Palm House, Sydney -  Solo Exhibition, and classes in the Pochoir technique by Mel Jones.

2009 - (December 9th to 20th) – ‘Observing Nature’ Solo Exhibition at Event Horizon Gallery, 186 Bathurst Road, Katoomba 

2009 - (October 30th to November 15th) – ‘Landscape Transfiguration’ – A trio Exhibition, Mel Jones, Meredith Cooper, and Carolyn Eadie, at the Braemar Gallery Springwood NSW, From October 30th to November 15th.

2009 - (July to August)- Mel Jones Solo Show, ‘Reviving the Art of Pochoir’,  Westmead Hospital,  Sydney NSW

2009 - (June)-Finalist Acquisitive-The Westmead Art Competition, Westmead Hospital , Sydney NSW  SWAHS Collection, permanent travelling display throughout NSW

2009 - (May to July) – ‘The Art of Seeing’ - Selected for show – BMAC Group Exhibition, The Edge Cinema Katoomba.

2009 - (May)- Winmalee ‘Autumn Artfest’, High School Drive, Winmalee

2009 - (January to April) – ‘Where sound and Vision meet’ - Selected for show – BMAC Group Exhibition, The Edge Cinema Katoomba.
